Default 2005 SLK Launch

Has anybody here actually driven a new SLK? If so, what are they like? Does the driving differ at all from the first generation?
We've got the launch for the brand new line tonight at Three Point Motors in Victoria. I have only seen pictures of it and can hardly wait to see one in person!

Default RE: 2005 SLK Launch

The new SLK is hot. I drove it at the "Love Mercedes Tour" and I highly recommend attending this event if it comes near your area! The car is very peppy and handles the corners well. I personally like the AMG package on the car and I was told the handling is better, but I can only assume that after reading what's in the new AMG package.

The stereo system, along with the new navigational system - wow, finally! All old SLK owners have to try this car. The seat controls takes a while to get your seat comfortable and depending how tall you are, you may feel more cramped - but it does have memory, so you don't have to fight it if someone else adjusts it. The console is very sharp looking with the chrome accents and I did appreciate the controls on the steering wheel - but I'm more partial to a 4 point steering wheel. However you feel about the way this car looks, it still a sharp 22 second hardtop convertible and I would trade my old SLK AMG for a new one.
