Window problem--SL55

Window problem--SL55
This CANT be that difficult, but its enough to have me stumped.
Recently had my batteries disconnected. Now everything is back together, but I've got a small problem. When you open the door, the window opens a crack so that when you shut it, the air pressure is reduced. then the window rolls itself up the last little bit.
But now, after re-connecting the battery, when I shut the door, the window does not roll up.
I'm guessing I've either screwed up some sequence or something, but its got me wondering.
Any suggestions?
thanks in advance.

I have a 94 SL500. It seems that when I am rolling up the windows they go up really slow. Like something is sticking but there is now. My son has sprayed lubricant on the window track where his windows go up and down on his old cars. Should I do this or can anyone tell me the problem I am having and how I can fix it?

I can't speak specifically to mercedes on this issue, but from my experience on lots of other cars, the lubricant thing can work somewhat, but in general, if that window is rolling up slower, you're eventually looking at a motor. I've replaced them on several cars and they're not that difficult. Judging by how many aftermarket window motors I see for sale for mercedes, I'd guess this is not that unusual of a problem.
good luck
