Tire noise
Hi Everyone,
I purchased a2003 SL500 Designo edition with 35K miles. I haveone irritating noise and that is the tire noise at around 40 mph. and up. I currently have Michelins on the car. The fronts are 255/40/ZR18 and therear are 285/35/ZR18. Is this common for Michelins or do I have other issues?
Thanks in advance for your help.

RE: Tire noise
If this note is a duplicate, I apologize. I was having trouble posting this morning and may have sent twice.
I have a set of Michelin Pilots on my 03 SL and find them unacceptably noisy. The din is noticeable at all speeds, even when coasting to a stop. My Winter tires, Dunlops, are quite quiet by comparison. Their only vice is a bit of vibration when first starting out after a long stop. I cannot wait for the Pilots to wear out, so I can replace them with tires that are not so noisily intrusive.
