Question low noise tire help

I have a 2006 CLK350 with 225/40 18" tires (all four are the same). Currently have BF Goodrich G-foce super sport A/S and they have been OK. They have been moderately noisy and seem to produce more vibration than I would expect. They have been rotated and balanced several times. I like the way they look, though. A technician suggested going away from a performance tire to a touring tire for improved noise and feel. Would this help? Any recommendations out there, or general observations. Any help would be much appreciated as it is time to replace the tires. (Wet and dry traction is important, but not concerned about winter/snow use).

Thank you,

Brad

go with what benz recommends,,,should have it on the driver side B pillar door jam. continentals pro contacts or michelins. these are better for noise.....as far as tire life not so sure.
