RE: soft top wont go up
Welcome Newbie-
You can go to this site below and download an owners manual for your car.

If you have the toolkit that originally came with the car, you can manually put the soft top up using the 'special tool' that is in the toolkit. Specifics are in the owners manual.
If, as you state, the hardtop released (front latches, etc) then you may have a problem rooted in the soft top controller. Best bet is to read up on how this bad boy works and what you can do to test/re-set. Use this link...

The moderator, LynnS, at the site I'm referring you to has aggregated an enormous amount of info onour sometimes problematic tops. You can also use the 'Search' function at this forum as well to read up on solving your specific issues.
Good luck with this, and after trying a couple of the remedies suggested, please post how you make out and specifically what happens when you activate your top system. BTW, since this is a signifigant drain on the battery, have the motor running when you activate the top system and/or re-synch the windows.
