Just sold my 2000 sl500 and want to buy a little newer to get the retractable hardtop. Thinking they came out in the 2003 model year.
Are some years better for the retractable hardtop than others??? How about the 03-04-05 models??? Thanks for any help.

Hello Len - take a look at the link below. It's a helpful guide as to the common issues with the R230 platform. I'm of the mindset that the first year of a new model release there will be some kinks to work out, so it may be better to look at the following year or couple years after its release...just my 2 cents.
