Have a 2000 sl500, battery with volt meter is 12.35
car not running, car running reads 14 plus
Can I hook up a battery tender to get 12.50
or should I look for a battery, or a short.
Up until now car has been fine. Just bought it
in may.

what is the issue? is it hard to start?

 

After a couple of day sitting car will
not start. Battery will read 11.45 on
meter.

 

might pull the ground when it sets, see if it will start when the battery has been disconnected a few days. if it is still drains then odds are the battery.

Ok guys, battery was the problem.
I would like to put a battery tender on
it this winter. Can I just turn the trunk
light off and just not close the trunk lid
tight? Or can I close the lid? Worried about
closing lid on cord. thanks guys

 

my sl has a switch next the light to shut it off with trunk open. if not take the bulb out
