The battery went dead after several months of driving the car. Now after charging the battery, the top goes up and stop when it gets in the up right position. The light on the switch starts blinking. Any answers
If it were mine I'd try a few things.
First I'd manually close and lock the top.
Then I'd hold the close button in the close position for 20 seconds.
Then I'd pull the switch to the open position until the top is fully opened and hold the switch in the open position for 20 seconds. What happens when you open and close the top now?

the earlier model sl top controllers had a self diagnostic feature through the soft top switch, but changed I think in 96. charging without disconnecting the battery can mess up your modules including the top controller. where your problem could be a microswitch/sensor I suggest having a dealer diagnose it. hopefully it's a sensor and you didn't smoke the controller.

or put the top completely up or down, with your doors closed, role up your windows and continue to hold down on both of window switches at the same time in the up position for 6 seconds. who knows?
