1999 sl500 cd changer is acting up. Will at times show " no cd changer" on tuner. the dealer chaecked it and said it is going out. Can anyone tell me if this is common? what are my options for replacement?

this is common for the d2b sys in a 1999 sl the fix is replace the cd changer buy it over the counter at dealer and install your self its not hard make sure you get the new style cd changer its a little thinner with a 203 part# you may need the brackets for it as well .

once you get the changer out un plug the orange fiber optic conn . have some one turn radio on you should see a flashing pulse of light out the unplug conn. do it a few times this makes sure your radio head unit is sending out its wake up signal . if thats happening every thing else is cream cheese!!!
