Radio led display not working on 1998 M.B. 500sl

Can anyone tell me what would cause the LED display on the radio to go blank. The radio works fine but no display so you never know what station you are on. Would anyone have an idea what itwould it cost to fix it? Thanks in advance for any info.

Pull the radio out and see the model # I have a few displays ...

I have had 7 Mercedes and have had problems with my LED display going out on my 1994SL. I purchased a replacement radio recentlyon Ebay fromgermanaudiotechfor $100.00. It was a GREAT buy. The radio actually has a better LED display than the original one. Go to Ebay, search for the seller: germanaudiotechand see if they have a replacement for your car.
