Default Antenna mast stuck

Hello! I was wondering how hard it is to gain access to the antenna motor through the trunk of my 1994 SL320. Suffice to say, I messed up the mast installation and now the entire plastic part is stuck in the motor. So, I need to remove the hard carpet from the side, but am finding this to be a bit difficult. Is there some trick to it? Also, how hard will the motor be to get to once I do finally see it? Any help on that matter is welcomed too! Thanks. Bird3

Removing the mast and motor is not really difficult. My sone did it and I watched him so I will try to guide you thru it. First, femove the mast by taking a wrench and loosing the mast itself on the outside of car where antenna goes down in body. Then turn the radio on and coax the mast out of the antenna itself (you will probably need a 2nd person to turn on radio while you pull the mast out). To remove the antenna motor, pull back hard cover on left side of trunk, unplug the connections, unbolt from body and base of antenna motor and pull down and out. Replace the new motor in reverse.

Thanks so much for your help. I will give it a try when the weather gets a bit warmer! Unfortunately, the mast broke off from the base and the plastic feed is now stuck in the motor, so I will need to get to that through the trunk. That's were the problem is - how do I get that hardcover off the side of the trunk? Also, my CD changer is on the left side too. Bird3
