is your module missing? if you still have it and want to fixed it you might try BBA Reman for repair. they charge about $400 to fix and they do guaranty the repair. where they were not able to fix mine, they did give me a refund when I showed I purchased one elsewhere. those are worth their weight in gold now. I have a spare, but I'm not giving it up for love or money. I found one from a member here and the other from an online search. start with ebay. the new replacement is 129 820 32 26 and is about $2,400. good luck.

Default control unit

I've been to hell and back in the past month after dealer diagnosed this part as failing on my 96 SL 320, and wanted $3,500 for repair. I put a locator out on a salvage network and examined repair. I got many calls and emails quickly, one from JON at Alps Auto Parts in Colton Cal. He said he had a BRAND NEW NOS part he would sell for $650, why buy salvage or take a chance on repair? Within 3 minutes I had a pay pal invoice for $670, and as soon as I gave my cc to paypal I was notified of a USPS tracking # and that my card had been charged. A week later USPS showed they still had not shipped. I called Jon and he admitted it was a lie, he had gone and acquired a salvage part with my $ he would ship that day. What arrived was a beat up junk yard POS which had been (all) salvaged, remanufactured and reprogramed. It did not work in my car. I sent it back and Paypal dispute is pending. Next I encountered Sonny at Best Auto Parts in Texas. He had an exact match salvage which tested good for only $240, so I gave him my credit card. He called back 10 minutes later and said sorry for the mistake, he could acquire the part I needed from a "sister yard" for a mere $675. Next, I pulled the part from my car and sent it to BBA. Within a couple of days they called to say it was repairable, $375, which I authorized and the part is now supposedly repaired and on the way back to me. I've seen several recommendations for BBA. If they cannot repair your part they have rebuilds in stock.
