Ok all hope you can shed some light on this one

I have a 93 SL 300 with 150k

I have had a little oil getting in the coolant indicating head gasket (or cracked head hope not)
and got hubby to do that drain and add the sealer stuff. It seems to help a lot but recently when between 40-50 accelerating and decelerating there is a loss of power on accel and a real bad vibrate and dull growl noise almost like the muffler is grinding on a rubber mounting
but its not that,
and on decal its louder and more shudder like the car is fighting compression or something.
Other than that at other speeds the car is smooth as can be for age and miles

I need some insight as to what that might be and if safe to drive til the gasket is checked out or replaced

Thanks in advance

the power loss issue could be a clogged catalytic converter. Ive replaced cats on those older SLs.

Ok thanks will do that. Its less of a power loss and more of a really bad noise leading thoughts to very bad other issue
