I have a barn find 99 sl500. Have replaced front struts, shocks and bump stops. Showed improvement but when front tire hits a hole in pavement, still hits hard. Steering is also not what I expect from a mb. Any suggestions appreciated as to where to go next.

 

check the top strut mounts for cracks in the rubber and maybe the torsion bar bushings?

 

All rubber bushings in the suspension should get a good, hard look...
