Newbe here. Any answers to squealing front brakes? Tried the go fast and stop hard thing. No good.

 

if it's not your wear indicator there is a copper colored paste A 001 989 87 51 you can put a small amount on the backside of your pads, not on the friction side. my understanding is that this one is good for all models. there are 2 other types, a gray A 001 989 51 12 and a golden brown A002 989 37 51 check at the dealer for the recommended one for your car.

 

Have you checked that the pads aren't worn out or that the little senders ( my 96 SL500 has eletric senders that light up in the dash if they start touching the rotor) aren't crooked and rubbing the rotor. If the pads are ok, I would spray the rotors with brake Kleen or similar product, sometimes in damp weather they will develope rust. You can sometimes do this thru the wheels but don't let it drip on the driveway. Either park on cardboard or get into the street. The anti squeal (I've seen Blue, keeps the pads from vibrating) and sometimes works. Back of the pads between the pad and caliper. There are also anti squeal shims available.
