Default Engine Cuts out at 5000 RPM

94 6.0L V12 Engine is cutting out at 4000-6000 RPM
Told I need to replace the Fuel Injection Rack - quoted $7000

Does this sound correct?
Is there a work a round to repleacing the entire injection rack?

If I want to replace the entire engine, can I dump the 12 for a L6 without fabricating tranmsisson and motor mounts?

is it in gear when it is cutting out or park. also i have never seen anybody replace a fuel rail on a v12 motor. if it is cutting out when you rev it to 5000 rpms when it is in park then this is normal.

Restricted air flow? Air filters clean and dry? How old is the fuel filter? It could be lowering your fuel presure.

Sounds about right. Your car apparently has a bad engine wiring harness (common for '93-'95) and needs a replacement along with a pair of throttle actuators -- very expensive.

You could save quite a bit of money doing the work yourself. This guy has detailed instructions on repairing the wiring to the throttle actuators so that you don't have to buy new ones: http://v12uberalles.com/throttle_actuator_rewire.htm.

It would be very expensive to substitute a 6-cylinder engine. You'd need to buy new wiring harnesses and control modules.

Thanks for the info. My wire harnless looks 10 times worse than the one in the article. Once I rebuild it I will let you know how I made out.
