I'm looking at buying a used 2009 SL550 and noticed that the dash is cracked on both sides next to the defroster vents (on the side of the dash closer to occupants) just in front of the windshield. The cracks are several inches long (almost the length of the defroster duct outlets). Has anyone else seen this? PO thinks it may be from sun exposure (florida car). I know its tough without pictures, but thoughts about repair/replacement? Cracks are just above where the dash is covered by the defroster outlet ducts.

Hello and welcome to the forum! It could definitely be sun related. You'll likely have to replace the whole dash. I would inquire with a professional about this, as it could sometimes be a delicate process because of the passenger airbag underneath. Attach some photos when you're able to. Other members should chime in as well.
