Default Injector washer cracks

Just purchased a 93 300d that has a stumble at idle. I adjusted the timing wich seemed to help pulled a few injectors wich are new and noticed that one of the injector washers was cracked and missing near the center. The injector is still sealing fine with no leaks to the outside but the inner seal around the injector tip is compromised. do any of you think this could contribute to the issue? Again not a compression leak but possibly disturbing the precombustion chamber burn atributes.

Thanks
Brandon

Default Compression leaks arround injector

I have a 1998 E300 that has compression leaking around #2 and #3 Cyl injectors. Could this be the injector washers or a bigger issue like head gasket? It also had the injector holes filled with burnt oil. I bought the car used. It has 182,000 miles on it. any ifno or advice would be great.

At 182,000 miles that engine should be just getting broke in. Your leak could be injector washers, could also be the pre-combustion chambers leaking (the part the injector threads into) as for the head gasket, the leak would probably be going into the crankcase or the cooling system as the most likely places for it to leak. Those ports are closer to the fire ring in the head gasket, making them the path of least resistance. In any case don't let it run very long leaking, because the escaping gasses will act like a cutting torch and destroy the mating surfaces.

There's a website called mercedessource.com... The guy who runs it has a channel on YouTube with a lot of very clear, informative videos that I've found very helpful. He has several videos dealing with injectors, leaks etc. that I think you might like to take a look at.

A compression leak around the #2 and #3 Injectors is not going to be caused by the Head Gasket.
Mix some Dawn Dish Soap to with Water until you have made a mix that will bubble like the bubble stuff that Kids use.
Spray it around the Injectors with the Engine Cold. Start the Engine. If you start seeing a bunch of bubbles you have located your leak.

If there is a leak there 2 possible things to try are removing the Injector and Torquing the Prechamber Collar/Retaining Ring and rplacing the Injector Heat Shields (and making sure the go in properly).
