Default Code Diagnostic Scanner

It's time to look into buying a Code Scanner for our SL500. While I've seen several that look 'right', it seems to make more sense to ask the group which type experience shows to be the best for the casual 'mechanic'.

Thanks for your advice.

Just got at OBD diagnostic interface. It is great. Cost $25 and you download a app to your smart phone for $5 that will not only read all error codes, it will turn them off. In addition, you can program your phone APP to show Mileage, distant traveled, tack, torque, every item the computer reads. You can display 100 different items of everything imaginable in dials, graphs, digital. Really neat. Best widget I ever bought for a total of $30. AND best part is it almost idiot proof. Super easy to set up.

Default OBD diagnostic

The plug-in module is listed on Amazon as BAFX PIC18F2480 for $23.99 for the android. The App is called "Torque" according to my son. I am sold on it. Engine just died in middle of no-where, at night, pulling race car. It told us what sensor was wrong, googled name, called up engine diagram on phone. found lose wire on sensor that kills engine. Back on road in 1 hr.

Hey you don't have bumper part for SL500 by chance.
