Default Broken Resistor by grille

While working on my 87 560Sl I noticed some kind of resister in the lower right grille opening. It looks like the resister that was used on older ford trucks on the firewall. Made out of white material with one wire going in and one wire coming out. Can't see what it hitches to. It is broken in half. What is it and where to buy one? Thanks for any help

When this happened to me, I got the replacement from the MB dealer. At that time, almost 12 years ago, they were cheap. Its purpose was related to completing a circuit that runs between the AC receiver-dryer and a temp switch or aux fan, I can't remember which.
