Hey guys I just purchased a 1996 SL500 and just realized that it doesn't have a cigarette lighter. I don't smoke but have an ipod and cell phone and now have no way to use the fm modulator for the ipod. Am I just not looking in the right place? Any suggestions on another way to power the devices that would go in the cigarette lighter?

 

but just next to the cassette compartment is the ashtray and cigarette lighter???

if it's not there, then just install one.

 

96' and up the lighter is below the stereo unit ...

It's only below the stereo if the cup holder was installed, otherwise it should be in the centre console as Sleepwalker says.

 

Cupholder? They put a cupholder in those? Damn. I want one.

There was a company selling those cupholders for mine. They wanted over $100 for it. No thanks. I'll spill my drink on my crotch, thank you.

I need to find a wrecked SL and take that from it.
