This vehicle is very seldom driven. Has had a problem with the ASR light coming on. The vehicle will perform great until the light comes on-then strains on acceleration. There is not any certain situation in which the light comes on. It can come on driving at 30mph or while coming to a stop at a traffice light. Most of the time-restart is needed to correct the situation-then the vehicle will perform great-until it happens again. There can be several miles put on the vehicle until this condition happens-or just a couple of minutes after driving. Any comments or previous experiences will be helpful. Same year, similar problem.....Main wiring harness was my issue....When they took the harness off, the insulation was deteriorating--wires were bare. I only had 50k miles.Since replacement, no reoccurrence. Not saying this is your issue but symptoms are right on. Hope that helps.

Just today the check engine light came on-I know this could be a whole different concern-but thought to you more experienced owners, this may be another symptom to the previous concern. Thank you again

 

I think that you are talking about ASR...noy sure what ARS is...

 

My repair was done by a repair shop. I cannot handle going to dealers; bad experiences......not just monetary. I do not remember the cost of the wiring harness repair but it was over a grand.....the harness is expensive.
