Default 79 450 SLC Timing Chain

Is removing and replacing the timing chain and the plastic guides a job that can be done by a do it yourselfer in a home garage?
Are special tools required?
I have completely restored my 68 Corvette to factory new condition so have some mechanical ability but I am new to the Mercedes world.
Thank you in advance for any input.
Kurt

Vytamenc,
Thank you for the reply.
I assume by "manual" you mean something a little better than the Haynes Repair Manual?
Any suggestions on where I can get a good all inclusive Mercedes Repair Manual?
Thank you,
Kurt
