Hi, My first post on this forum. I joined having seen a fantastic SL 500 like new, but I'm going to have to settle for something a lot cheaper.

I have just driven a 1999 SL600. 67k Black First look round it was unmarked. It had the top on when I drove it.

It seemed taught and reasonably responsive, but I really expected more power from that lump. Still, it may be that it was so smooth that I will have to check the figures off the clock, to really know what is going on.

I have no idea what to offer him and he really has little to do with selling this type of car. Can anyone suggest a rough price...and is there a good way to find realistic prices when there are so few of this type of car?

I have been looking through the previous threads and have picked up on gearbox problems, but is there anything else that has become an issue as the car reaches seven years old.

There was an amber warning light on the display that didn't go off. It was center bottom and had a small symbol which the guy said may be something to do with the suspension. It took me some weeks to learn all about the Caddy SLS suspension, now I guess I'll have to start over.
