RE: 600 SL on eBay (formerly Ken Lay's of Enron)
A few years ago someone was selling a 600SL on eBay that was represented as previously belonging to Ken Lay. It caught the attention of people in the forums who marveled at how that seller seemed to think the car should command a premium in price simply because it had been owned by Lay.
Anyhow, I have no interest in this car but would suggest that anyone who is should inquire about the engine wiring harness. This is notorious for failing in these cars and can be ridiculously expensive to repair. If the wiring is original, it is likely to develop a problem at some point in the future. Also, I would ask to know what diagnsotic codes are present for the ADS system, as indicated by the malfunction light. It only takes an LED to read these codes.

to my knowledge Ken Lay did have 3 different Mercedes'. Not sure if the one I aquired was ever listed on eBay. As for the trouble codes, good question........ I'll find out next week and post it. I never did like the ADS systems on these cars. If I didn't know better, I'd just guess it's a dummy button with a red light in it. *grin
