I am thinking of purchasing what appears to be an excellent condition 2000 sl500 with only 21K miles. Does anyone have experience with that year? Known problems, etc.?

I just purchased a 2000 with 21275 miles - still under factory warranty until September. The only problem with the car was some stiching coming unravelled on the soft top - both side window areas. The local MB dealer replaced the entire rear section of the roof under warranty.

I still can't get used to the flex service arrangement - my car has only had two services since new, one "A" and one "B"; and the computer says it's not due for an "A" service for another 6500 miles - that will be about 2 years from the last service.
