I have a 1984 380 Sl that im attempting to sell and the odometer decided to quit working everything else on the car works perfectly and its been maintained perfectly and thne cars been kept in the garage for 3 years everythings original besides the stereo and speakers i have a buyer an need to get the issue fixed immidatly.

The original plastic gears that come in 380SL and 560SL are very susceptible to chemical attack from the grease over a period of time. I know a rebuild shop that can upgrade these plastic gears but the speedometer head unit would have to be shipped to him for a rebuild.
