My 04 SL500 goes into Limp Mode about every 100 miles or so. I then pull over put it into park, shut off the engine, restart, put into Drive and all is good for about another 100 or more miles. Is this electrical or mechanical?

 

Hello and welcome to the forum - the usual problem that you'll see on the 722.9 transmission is a faulty valve body (control unit) or a faulty conductor plate containing the speed sensors. I suggest getting those checked out first.
