hello new to the forum..just got a 2001 s500 2 days ago..the steering wheel goes up ,in and out but will not come back down..am i doing something wrong?.

.aslo the trunk button to make it close (green button )i push it ,i hear a sound but nothing happens ,i have to close it myself..any suggestions..

thank you ..figured out the problem .i put the streering wheel all the way up ,and then i came back down.

 

I just bought my 2001 s500 last weekend and love it too. I have an answer on the trunk close mechanism for you, and I know this because I felt really dumb. The reason it doesn't work, i.e. close at the push of that button is that you probably don't have that feature. the green button is so you can't lock yourself in the trunk. it is an inside release. my salesman thought it was a closure button tyoo. Mercedes does offer an auto close trunk, but I don't have it. It sure looks like I would though. Hope that helps

I haven't had any trouble with my stearing wheel, except that is sceaks going up and down.

 

automatic closure comes on models 2004-up, on previous years it comes as an option
