Default Steering Shock

Hello Everybody,
I was wondering if an '86 560 SEL has a steering shock. There is a bad shimmy whenever I hit a pothole going over 65 MPH or so.
Thanks and happy motoring,
Joe

Get them balanced. It doesnt cost much. They do it for free when you fit tyres anyway. Wheels out of balance cause vibrations.

Check the shock; cheap to replace, and you gotta have it working. Tires must be balanced and good; 126 chassis is kinda sensitive to bad tires on the front. Be sure to check the steering idler while you're under there.
Regards,
randy

Thanks fellows, I am going to order a steering shock, get the tires balanced and the alignment checked. According to your responses, this should take care of the problem.
Happy motoring,
Joe
