Dan,
Can't think how you have got to the problem being ABS if you have also got the Airmatic warning on.
I contend that your problems all arise from the Airmatic problem rather than the other way around.
So exactly what is the Airmatic warning?
Warning Do not Drive or
Warning. Airmatic height low or what?
Get the (non engine) OBD codes read using MB Star Quick Test. This will provide more info.

I bought used ABS pump assembly, replaced it and bled today... ABS light came back on...plus 2 messages: BAS(brake assist-visit workshop) and ESP electronic stability program (visit workshop).
When I visited workshop prior to this replacement, car was diagnosed with ABS pump assembly. Today, new message on a scan tool was "faulty high pressure return pump". I wonder if that pump is part of ABS pump assembly or some other pump.
This car starts to drive me crazy... may end up on eBay soon.

Hi,
Changing parts without diagnosis is an expensive and often non productive process.
Get the codes read, recorded and reset. When (IF) the codes reappear (IMMEDIATELY?) what are they.
The codes identify the system and the parameters causing the problem.
Since you have now changed the ABS pump with one of unknown provenance and you have a worse problem I can only suggest that you start from the beginning and get the codes (again?).
For instance are the displayed and reoccurring codes the same or different since the ABS unit has been changed?
What are the code references and the definition / diagnosis given by the garage against each?
Come back and I'm sure we can move forward from there.
Good luck.
