Default Headlights

Season's Greetings To All!

I have purchased a set of aftermarket headlights that were supposedly for my year and make (97 S420), and when I attempted the installed I find that they are a five pin fitment and not a four pin fitment. What can I do, or is there a modification that I can make to cause these to work safely? I'd appreciate your help on this. It's obvious that there will be no driving the car without lighting. So please, respond as quick as you can.

Thanx,

David

Well, Happy New Year to you all, too! I know I've done nothing to anyone via this board, and was really hoping to get some help here!

No problem...I figured out what to do and have made the adjustments, and the lights look beautiful and operates just fine.

The headlights are Aftermarket, but the fitment is great! However, they are 5-pin, and my '97 S420 is a 4-pin. So, I popped the cover of the 4-pin plug and removed the wires, and attached them directly to prongs on the headlight assembly. Now, that's only temporary, because they may not stay. They are subject to slide off! Meanwhile, I have ordered a couple of 6-pin plugs. Once they arrive then I will search out the parklight prong and solder a jumper to the fifth prong so that all lights will be working. The part number for the 6-pin plug connector is 011 545 50 28. Best to you.
