Hey guys,
When I bought my 92 600 SEL a couple of years ago the dirver's side power assist was not working and I learned for this forum that a lot of other people had the same problem. Now the other doors/trunk are failing one after the other. What exactly does this mean? Right now only the rear door works. Thanks.

PSE detects leak on the certain door line and shuts down the fuction to avoid overheating the motor.
do vacuum/pressure test on certain door.
to activated those doors again, pull and reinsert PSE fuse (inside the trunk fuse box) or disconnect/reconnect PSE pump or battery (radio code needed).

I just went through this process with my 1995 S420. Before replacing anything, look to the simple things first such as a fuse or loose connection (i.e. ground). Trace the problem to the source and don't just replace parts. When I removed my PSE unit, I dis-assembled and cleaned all the parts; I also used compressed air to ensure things were clean and ports were clear of debrie. Put voltage across solenoids to see if they are working and sealing properly. I found my PSE module motor brushes were worn out. Hope this helps.
Thanks.

It is not the PSE pump under the rear seat, it is the Power assist vacuum pump that is easy to get at through the trunk. Samething happened on by 1993 600SEL. Took me one hour to remove the pump, carefully remove the vacumm lines, clean out inside, replace, then all doors and trunk clisng work great. Taking the fuse in and out only worked for awhile. See how to do this at: http://www.v12uberalles.com/projects_page.htm

just like sleepwalker said. pressure and vacuum test the red vacuum lines at the closing assist pump in the trunk that will tell you if you have a leak
on the pump you will see HL, HR, VL, VR AND HD
HL LEFT REAR DOOR
HR RIGHT REAR DOOR
VL FRONT LEFT DOOR
VR FRONT RIGHT DOOR
HD DECK LID ACTUATOR
IF ANY OF THESE LINE ARE LEAKING THEN REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL AND TEST THE ELEMENT IN THE DOOR IF IT IS LEAKING REPLACE IT.
OH BY THE WAY THERE IS A VENT LINE IN THE SYSTEM THAT IS CONNECTED TO THE PUMP TIS LINE WILL NOT HOLD PRESSURE OR VACUUM.
IF NONE OF THE LINES ARE LEAKING THEN REPLACE THE PUMP. AND YES IT WILL COST YOU ABOUT 800.00. ANY MORE QUESTION E MAIL ME
