Default Passenger Seat Not Working

Hi all, the passenger seats on my 95 S500 is not working, I've checked the fuses and they seems OK, but the adjustments button are not moving the seat a bit. What's really odd, there will be time with no apparent reason, the seat will start moving back and forth by itself and the lumbar support will move backward and forward like it had a mind of its own, then it will stop. I will attempt to adjust the seat afterward, but the controls are not responding.

Any idea on this?
Thanks, Neil

Sounds like a short in the wiring, probably under the seat, a wire could be worn and touch against something and shorting out. Check the wire harness, also if you have a continunity tester, buy one you can check the switch, if the bulb in the tester comes on the circuit is OK. Being intermittent, I'll bet it is a bad wire somewhere in the system

Please do, if you don't find a bad wire or circuit under the seat, Test the switches themselves, mine are on the door panel, so I would have to take the entire panel off. Also open up the fuse box and check the wiring under there.

I suggest you to get a Factory Mercedes Manual.

It has all service and maintenance instructions, step by step.

A great help, hope this will help you.
