Default New engine selections for S class in 2007?

Has anyone heard about MB changing their engine lineup for 2007 or soon thereafter? I've heard rumors to that effect. To me the S class, except for S55, is significantly underpowered. The S500 only has 302 hp, which for a big car, isn't much!

Re-read your post and then wonder...why no one has responded. Silence sometimes speaks very loud. Duh, get a clue.

having worked at a dealer before i moved to wyoming in january, i happen to know that the s500 will change to the s550. i dont know hp specs or any other engines, but if you want to find out id go to mbusa.com.

what i do know is that i drove a lot of s-class while i worked for that dealer, and all of them from the 320 to the 65amg seemed to have plenty enough to get them down the road. i currently drive an 84 s500, and even though it needs a valve job and dies when i let go of the gas, it still blows most everything on the road away, including my buddy's 74 mustang with a 347 stroker (much more engine than a 5 liter in a much lighter car)
