My dear Sadie, a1990 300SE, broke her odometer gears, which were surprisingly tricky to repair, but doable. When removing the instrument cluster, I clumsily popped the retaining cover off the 6-pin plug behind the speedometer on the back of the instrument cluster, freeing 7-connectors with the associated wires scattering wildly in a happy free for all. See pics. After spending several frustrating hours trying to replace the wires correctly, I am flying the white flag of surrender. It has occurred to me that a solution would be to find someone who might have donor car That wouldn't mind giving up this plug with the wires attached in the correct position, leaving me with the simple job of splicing the wires. I would be happy to trade my firstborn and fair recompence to have my instrument panel working again. Thanks, and remember, "Only dead fish go with the flow".
