Default Just got my 1990 560 SEC....

Well, I just got my 1990 560SEC Delivered here by truck today.
Not a bad day..
Took her up to 130 mph.., she cruised for 3 miles at that pretty nicely.
I took a picture of the speedo at 130mph, but it didn't come out..
so, here is a shakey one at about 120mph..

The car started overheating right off the bat today when I first drove it...I pulled the radiator cap and the gasket was bad..so, I replaced it and that cured that.

The air conditioning was blowing nice and cold all day, and then air conditioning cut out on me..., it just stopped like a fuse went.
the fan does not blow or anything.

Can someone tell me where the fuse for the airconditioning is located ?
I checked the fuses right under the hood on the drivers side., but I did not
see any blown ones in there.

I did about 150 miles today around town, and my gas mileage was 19.95 mpg..,
not bad at all I would say.
I probably averaged about 45-55 miles per hour around town.

The car passed the California Smog Test today with flying colors the first time through !
Not bad for an Indiana car.

I do not know what all the things on the dash and center console do.. does anyone have a few pages of an owners manual that they could fax or email to me ?
my fax # is: 800-277-3543

My Dad bought a 560SEC in 1986 I think. It was blue with blue leather. That is my favorite Mercedes that I have driven.

I had a problem recently where my AC fan went dead too. The problem was a fuse seperate from the main fuse box. The fuse itself had a tiny hairline crack in it which caused intermittant operation until the thing croaked entirely. The fuse I found was located ahead of the main fuse box in a small plastic box -- it's just a strip of metal that bolts down to two wires that lead into the box. I own a 1994 E320, so maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but give it a look anyway. Be sure to clean up the contacts with a light sanding too. Could be a fan speed regulator, hope not... Good luck
