1990 560 SEC High Idle, Cold Start Problem
Starting having hard start problems when engine is cold and inconsistent idle speed. Sometimes the idle speed is normal, i.e., less than 1000 rpm's, and sometimes will not go below 1500 to 1800 rpm's (engine hot or cold makes no difference) just inconsistant idle speed.
When this problem started we were having standard Florida weather - 70s in morning and day time highs of 80s to low 90s. Recently we are having some colder weather - lows in the high 30s to the low 40s in the AM and the highs for the day in the 60s. When our cold spell arrived the hard cold start and high RPM problems stopped. Is there a potential / related reason, or is it just coincidental that the problem has gone away? Of course it may return tomorrow.
Just wondering if this info may assist in a diagnosis to the underlying problem, as I am sure the problem did not fix itself and that the hard cold starts and idle issue will return.
Thanks Bob
