S430 2003 model - the courtesy light on the inside of the drivers side door handlekeeps ficking on every 15 seconds or so. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so could can you tell me how to turn this function off.

This is not an intended feature!

I assume this occurs only on the drivers door. First thing to do is check whether the door switch is functioning correctly. Put a little "gum" or similar on the end of the switch. Any difference?
Alternatively your door may be out of adjustment (to make it easier to shut the door). Basically the switch isn't moving adequately into the OFF position when the door is shut.

If not then I suggest this is a complex CAN (digital highway) issue that is not a DIY (or normal garage) type job.
