Taking off timing belt
in the pic i sent you its sort of a bad picture but you can see the belt tensioner it is the middle pulley, the one on the right is the powersteering pulley and the one on the left is the crank pulley. the tensioner is in the middle, yours might look different than the one in the pic. the one in the pic is theupdated model. yours could have a torx head in the middle of the pulley to move it if its the old style if you do have the new style you need a 17mm to move the tensioner and the 17mm head is visible just to the left of the tensioner pulley. you can just barely see the 17 mm screw at the very bottom of the pic. its not actually a screw just a 17mm size head to move the tensioner.

just the 2 bolts but becareful when taking them out and putting them in they tend to cross thread. use some antiseize when going back in and clean the threads a bit. you might want to press the metal ring in, around where the bolts go threw the alternator brackets so it will makeinstall easier.
well just been screwed a few times by a Mercedes Benz. if you break the mounting brackets the correct repair is to replace the whole front cover of the engine and that has happened to me before, but thanks!!!
if you have a 430 engine you should be able to get it out by twisting or turning the alternator but if you have a 500 you might have to take out the auxillary fan which is pretty easy, like 2 screws but you have to work around the trans coolant lines and rad hoses, or you can remove the screws on the top of the rad support next to the 2 hood latches and then move the rad frontwards a bit it should give you some movement maybe enough for clearance.
