How do you remove the front bumper trim?
Got a small scratch on the front bumper trim (piece with the chrome bar that runs through it) and I'd like to remove it to have it repainted or replaced. Any easy ways to get it off without having to take off the entire bumper? Hate to risk scratching up the bumper to fix the trim.
Thanks in advance!

RE: How do you remove the front bumper trim?
Basically trim is held in with "barbs". These can be quite tight and release is intended to be (pushed out) from behind however CAREFUL prising from the front CAN allow the trim to separate. But it's knowing how much force you can apply and using an appropriate tool so you don't damage the bumper surface. There is no positive fix...at least on SLK and S w220. Can't be certain on other models but design usually reads across all models.
Need to look where the "barbs" are located and then prise immediately adjacent.
If they don't want to lift then its the whole bumper off which isn't a particularly big job UNLESS some of the screws are rusted badly.
