Default Headlights for 2000 s430

Looking to replace the original factory lamp assembly with the clearer version seen on the newer models (2002-2006??). They look like the same design, but does anyone know if its that simple to switch out? If so, where can I but them besides the dealer?

I have seen them on E-bay and they indicate that they are the same for 2000 through 2005. I would look a little more carefully though and not take theirt word for it. I saw them ranging from 500 to 1500.

Also be sure that you confirm that you have Halogen or Xenon. I'd be interested in what you find out too.

xenon got igniter ballast, control module, and uses 25,000 volts.

halogen uses 12 volts.

They are easy to switch out, but you'll need a conversion kit for the wire adapters, the wire adapters for Low Bean and High Beam will fit in and work just fine, but the adapter for the turning signals, fog lamps and the little yellow side lights is different and those lights will not work. Until now I still don't know where to buy the adapter conversion kit to make them work.

Did you get a chance to replace the headlights?
