well go it done today. the cabin filters are located behind the flove box. there are 2 of them. the fuel filter is located next to the drivers side rear tire, there is a panel that needs to be removed, and also the fuel pump is there too. the fuel hoses are connected with snap clamps, i cut those offand used gear clamps. worked out perfect,
the engine air filters are on the top engine cover. first the front cover needs to be removed , then pull on the engine cover/air box assembly on each corner and remove. there are 2 filters and 4 screws on each air inlet..and thats it.

i dont know if its just in my head but, the car seems to be running much better now. probebly cause the fuel filter was clogged and so were the air filters.

I did all of those inMay 06on the S430. I was impressed athow filthy the airfilters and cabin filters were.

I would have chimed in earlier but I was spent all day changing the Trans fluid, transfer case fluid, and diff fluid on my 04 MDX that I picked up two days ago (traded the Saab 9-5) . Simple service, I did a triple drain and fill on the trans fluid to get it all out of thetorque convertor and spent a good portion of the day trying to find 20mm crush washers for the diff drain bolts that the dealer was out of.

I am seriously thinking of changing the tranny fluid in the S430 this Spring. "Lifetime fluid" with a "never service" tranny is nonsense to me. I would do the diff fluid at the same time. Probably Amsoil synthetic for both or perhaps the MB tranny fluid which I think is synthetic too.

Armend, have you changed the brake fluid, MB recommends every two years preferably in the Spring.

Nice of you to post a reply to your own question for the benefit of others.
I have been away from the 300C forums for the last 3 days and there were 2,785 new posts in that short time. It would be nice to have 1/10th that activity over here.

Good information.

How many miles has it been since you last had the filters changed?

I've had my S500 for about a year and never changed any of the filters. The car runs fine but the looked at the airfilters last week and they were filthy..

How often do the filters need to be changed? Fuel, Cabin and Air?

i think every 30k miles you should replace them.
