Default Engine oil light

Hello,
New to the Mercedes world. Have gotten a lot of info from you guys looking through the threads. My problem is the engine oil light staying on. Checked the oil level , found it to be fine. Went ahead and changed oil and filter ( castrol 10W40 non synthetic) for my own security of knowing. Now the light stays off until the car has been running for approximately 2 minutes where before it came on after initial start up. Analog gauge stays at 3 during driving and drops to about 1 at idle. At a loss. Thanks for any suggestions.

Maybe you have an oil pressure switch (for the light) AND an oil pressure sensor (for the gauge).

Try changing the oil pressure switch since these switches have been known to give trouble.
