Default Distance Sensors

I have a 2000 320S Class and the distance sensors aren't working as they should....the switch on the dash keeps 'tripping' when I switch it on...when switched on ALL the distance indicators in the car show into the red...and ALL start to 'squeal'...both in drive and reverse gear......then after about 10 seconds the switch 'trip' and ALL turn off again.

Cheers
Kev

they could be out of position. they are very sensitve and a slight bump of the bumper can afect them. also if you have a front licence plate that can do it also.

sometimes they look fine but they really are slightly moved from the proper position. sometimes wax build up around them will sometimes affect their operation, they rarely just go bad. usually they get knicked or bumped.
