RE: '99 S320.. How do you adjust the headlights ?
Since no one has answered you I can at least tell you how I adjusted my 2001 S430. With the hood raised there is a black plastic covering over the headlights. There are two holes slit in the plastic. If you put a phillips screwdriver in the holes you can feel the screws. Turning one will adjust the up-down and the other the side to side.
Someone wrote in the other day and mentioned removing a black plastic shield. I'm not sure what model of car this was for. Possibly the plastic is removable on mine, but I haven't checked.

Kevin, open your hood, secure the bonnet, move towards the front of your head light to be adjusted and on top of the headlamp assy is a plastic cover, flip open then on the back side of the lamp assy, there are 2 hex shape plastic, normally colored black or grey, the one on top if for up and down adjustment and the one of the side closer to the radiator is for left or right, before you do all the dajustment, you would need to line up the car on a wall and mark a 3 feet horizontal line on the wall (height) then that would be your low beam level guide,
