Maraming Salamat, Sleepwalker!

Yes, the vehicle is mine. The aircon used to blow cold as ice - in fact, too cold. All of a sudden, it just didn't want to blow cold air anymore. There is also a strange noise when I open the aircon. I had it checked and they said it's about to die and it needs to be replaced. It costs around 35k here for a new compressor. Ang mahal!

Thanks for all the help, kababayan!

Sleepwalker,

Regarding the compressor again. The brackets seem to be the same as mine. The only difference is the speed sensor. If the compressor, as you mentioned, is slightly longer, will it fit my s320? I have attached a picture of the compressor I bought.

Thanks.

yes it will fit.

too cold means there are moisture inside the system which can produce "icing".

if the freon is mixed with a bit of water inside, it will block the expansion valve, and the pressure will be too high.

better flush the system dry using freon 11 and a little pressure of nitrogen. if you can use liquid nitrogen, then much better.

purge all the dirty oil from inside (remove the filter drier).

replace the filter drier too and fill with correct quantity of refrigiration oil. get the best and clean brand.

air conditioning is very important in our country because of warm climate. this always gets higher priority in cars.

yes, that one will fit.

got part number on it?

you will be converting R12 to R134a this time.

take note of filling quantity. if 1.2 kilos...just 1.2 kilos (there's a label underhood where you can see this).

thanks sleepwalker!

the compressor is on the way to manila. i have printed out your instructions and will follow it to the letter. the weather here is getting so hot that I can't do with a busted airconditioner.

thanks again.
