Default 86' 420 SEL leaking puddles

Well, a few weeks ago we brought my 86' 420 SEL in to the shop because it used to leak maybe one drop a night in the garage. Well we brought the car in to our mechanic and after leaving it there for a few days the guy took the front end of the transmission out and said he replacedthe bosching or something and almost all parts on the front end of the transmission. and that he fixed it. Well after a few days we found out that it leaks. We took it back and a few days later we went back and found out that it leaks puddles. I have no idea what he did but now he says that he will have to replace the torque converter which will cost us at least 200 bucks and all the leaking will hopefully stop. So I'm going back on monday to check the status of that car. I was just wondering if anyone may know what it is?

What the tech did is screw up. Probably didn't line up the shaft from the engine to the tranny. Also, the torque converter probably should have been replaced anyway. Is the tech a Mercedes tech or just a tech?

Yeah I'm going back tomorrow to the shop to pick up my car. If it's still leaking I'll tell him to line up the shaft from the engine to the transmission. This guy is just a tech, but his shop sees many mercedes about everyday. Thanks for replying.
