My sister-in-law has a 2002 S430 with about 50K miles on it. She recently bought it used from somebody that the family knows. They just took it in to a dealer (Mercedes of Oakland) for service, and were told that "it's time" to replace the motor mounts . . . at a cost of $4,000! I've heard that Mercedes can be expensive to maintain, but this just seems like a total rip to me.

Is this a reasonable servicing at a resaonable cost, or are they being ripped off???

 

thats extemely high and i work at a dealer. mounts are usually about 150-200 each and youll need 2 of them labor is 2 or 3 hours. i find it hard to believe 4000$ for just motor mounts? was there other items in the estimate? holy hell thats a rip off

 

I need to have the motor mounts on a S430 2001 replaced front and rear--have you been able to find a better quote from another Mercedes Dealer
