It is certainly disturbing to read that you are thinking of ending your posts soon. I have not been a member of this forum for very long but it is obvious to me that you are providing an invaluable service to so many people all over the world. I‘m not sure if you are able to elaborate on the situation or not. Hopefully you are able to reconsider. I’m not sure as to what has happened but I would say to not let the action of one get you down. I for one think are doing a tremendous job and certainly hope that you can continue to do so.

lol,,
Sleepwalker, Don't feel bad about helping the Brits. They're not as pompous the world makes them out to be..
I'm actually Australian. Just living here temporarily.
Well, Both fuses were good. (unfortunately). (see pic) I even tested both fuses with my multimeter. Zero resistance.
I've checked the box under the pan also (left passenger side). There were no fuses inside. Just a circuit board. (see pic) It's a little strange, because I was expecting 3 fuses as your diagram shows. 2 * 150 and 1*60.
I also found the following diagram which I believe is for the W210. I'm couldn't find one for the W220 but assume it's a similar set up. The M4/3 is shown and the N76 (receiving the PWM) looks like the controller for the fan module where my 3 fuses should have been.
I'm beginning to think that the problem could be from the earlier on in the message system. ie. the sensor or even something to do with the climate control. Is is common for the suction fan module to go?
I guess my next task is to test the suction fan module for voltage. As I mentioned earlier however, I couldn't get the front right headlight out. Am i missing something in the removal process? Do I need to take out the light to access the Suction fan module?
Any suggestions would be most welcomed. I appreciate all the help you've given me thus far and even if this doesn't work out send me an email if you're ever in London. I'll shout you a few pints of British beer. That american beer tastes like lolly water..

I forgot to mention, The EC light on the climate control is stuck on. This suggests that the Air Conditioning will never work. I thought it was because the outside air temp was < the request car temp. But it wont' turn off..
Am I at the stage where I need to take it the Mercedes dealer?

it is impossible that your car doesn't have this X4/10. find it again (only if there is no power on that 60A lite fuse #33).

you will only do it if there is power on fuse #33.... or else it won't be necessary.
if there is no power on fuse #33, then your problem is just power supply and need to go to X4/10.

RE: 2001 S500 overheating
Sleepwalker, thanks for the information. I've just checked. There is no power to the Number 33 fuse with ignition on.
The X4/10 box shown in the picture looks different to the box I found bolted to the underside of the metal plate.
I've attached pictures of the box. Can you confirm that this is not the X4/10?
I'll have another look this evening.
Is it common for the fuse in the X4/10 control module to go? 150amps seems like a strong current. The fuse must be huge.
Thanks for the picture of the W220 diagram. Much appreciated.
Don't let one bad experience on the forum make you feel unappreciated. I think that everyone in this forum has a huge amount of respect for you given the amount of help you've given everyone.
Cheers
